The Global Women’s Water Initiative provides training for women in Africa to be able build simple water and sanitation technologies so they can become self-reliant and improve their communities' health. GWWI provides women with the tools to educate their community about good hygiene and water protection as well as the technical skills to build rainwater harvesting tanks, water treatment technologies and toilets with the potential to start micro-businesses.
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT
In July 2011, GWWI hosted its 3rd Women and Water Training Program in Kampala, Uganda with 52 women from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and the United States participating!
In 4 short months, 15 teams returned home and implemented WASH technologies and solutions and have since impacted over 2200 people and counting!
